Butter is not just a fatty, delicious substance but sometimes a practical one as well. Since it's so slippery and greasy, it can actually be helpful in removing sticky stuff—like gum.
I'm not entirely sure how people—children and adults alike—ever get chewing gum stuck in their hair, but it seems to happen frequently enough. If you or someone you know ever finds gum clinging to their precious hair, apparently you just need to soften up some butter, put it on the hair around the gum, and the gum will slide right off. You'll also probably want to wash your hair afterwards.

Amazing 3D optical illusion street art by Kurt Wenner

February 2011: Spiderman Saves the Day at Universal Studios, Japan. This stereoscopic image of the famous Marvel comic character used Colorcode glasses to view the 3D effect.
A new book collects the 3D street art of Kurt Wenner, a former NASA employee, who uses his mathematical skill to create three-dimensional illusions on pavements across the world. When viewed from the correct angle, people standing on top of them look like they are floating in thin air, and solid concrete can look like gaping chasms. Kurt has been perfecting his technique since 1982. Now, using the skills he has perfected over 30 years, he is able to create stereoscopic images, such as the one above enabling people to walk along imaginary webs slung by Spiderman.

Crash Site in San Diego, California, August 2009. A mysterious crash site is found in the pavement outside the convention area. The security guards are models hired by Disney Studios, and the man intervening is a Disney vice president.
For 25 years the artist has been using complex calculations from his old job - creating conceptual drawings of extraterrestrial landscapes at NASA - to bring floors and walls to life. Because of the emergence of computer-generated images, he was one of the very last artists to be trained how to mechanically replicate perspectives using pencil and paper and complex equations. But in 1982 he turned his back on space projects and, after selling all his belongings, moved from the USA to Italy where he applied his knowledge to art.

Northwest Fantasy, created in April 2010 in San Francisco, California. The British Columbia Tourist Board mounted an event with a zip line that travelled over a faux canyon created by Kurt Wenner.
He says: "The pieces look real because they are calculated to be perfectly and mathematically accurate. It's exactly how they would look if the objects in my paintings were actually there. I use a piece of string to measure fixed points between the viewing location and the painting. This lets me calculate exactly how the perspective should be. It takes me around five to seven days to complete an average sized piece."

A futuristic water-powered jet pack

A futuristic water-powered jet pack which could see YOU flying across water

Everybody dreams about flying through the air like their favourite action hero at some point in their life...and now it's possible with the new Jetlev-Flyer - a futuristic jet pack.
Canadian engineer Raymond Li designed the water-powered machine so that it can hover up to 30 metres in the air and reach speeds of up to 22mph as you make your way across the water.
And now fans of Superman or even James Bond can get their hands on this high-tech device for just £110,000.
Action: The new Jetlev-Flyer being tested at Miami Beach, Florida. Almost anyone can enjoy it at a cost of more than £100,000
Time for take off: Created by a Canadian engineer for safety, stability, ease-of-use and precise and effort flight controls
Walking on water: The high-tech machine can reach speeds of up to 22mph and heights of up to 30m

The device was being tested out on the beaches of Miami, Florida, and onlookers were able to watch the pilot as he propelled into the air and flew across the water.
The Jetlev-Flyer has a 10 metre hose and an engine which doubles as a flotation device. The hose is essential because water is sucked up and spat out through two nozzles which are mounted on the users back.

It took more than 10 years to perfect the design and if you don't fancy splashing out all that cash to buy one, there is a chance it might be coming to a holiday resort near you.
So you could soon be fulfilling those childhood dreams of flying across the water like Superman or doing stunts in your very own James Bond movie.
You could soon fulfil those childhood dreams of becoming your favourite action hero as the manufacturer is trying to get the Jetlev-Flyer into resorts across the world
Off he goes: The flights controls are designed so it is easy enough for anybody to use
